1. CN Tower
On top of the list of course is Toronto’s most famous landmark, the 553-meter tall CN Tower. This structure towers over the city and is virtually impossible to miss. It was built within 1972 ad 1976. It was once the tallest freestanding structure in the world.
A trip to one of the observation decks or restaurants such as the 360 and Horizon Restaurants located on the top levels of the tower is sure to be an experience you won’t easily forget. You can enjoy a unique and spectacular view of the city and of Lake Ontario. The highest viewing deck is at the Sky Pod which is 447 meters above ground.
If you want additional thrill, you can take enjoy the “Edge Walk” which is a hands free walk on a 1.5 meter wide ledge. It’s perfectly safe though as you will be attached to a safety harness and rope. This is available on the main deck which is over 300 meters high.

2. The Roger’s Center
Adjacent to the CN Tower is the Roger’s Center. It is a massive sports arena that can accommodate thousands of spectators which is why it is a popular venue for major sporting events and concerts.
The arena has a unique roof structure that allows the dome to be opened in favorable weather.
3. Casa Loma
This medieval inspired hilltop castle features 100 rooms, an 800 mile tunnel and a 5 acre estate garden. It was originally constructed for Sir Henry Pellatt who was a romantic and eccentric Canadian millionaire.
Casa Loma is now a museum open to the public and also offers areas that can be rented for special events. This popular tourist destination gets over 350,000 visitors each year.
When you visit this elegant castle, you can take a tour of the different areas and marvel at the splendid décor. From the Great Hall with intricate sculpted figures adorning its pillars to the brilliant and unique gardens, Casa Loma is simply an experience you shouldn’t miss.
4. Toronto Zoo
The Toronto Zoo is located at the Rouge Valley and is accessible by car and public transport. It is open daily from 9am to 7pm.
The zoo is home to over 5,000 animals in 500 species. These include pandas, rhinos, lions, polar bears and giraffes. If you are holidaying with children then this is definitely a must see.
You can spend the day walking around the exhibits or exploring the Discovery Zone. There are also rides available to turn it into an enjoyable trip.
Definite must see attractions include the Giant Panda Experience where you can meet giant panda cubs, the only ones in Canada. You can also see the Gorilla rainforest to watch the playful Western Lowland Gorilla troop.

5. St. Lawrence Market
The market is housed in what used to be the St. Lawrence Hall which was built in 1850. It was restored in 1967 but has retained its charming old world appeal. It is the perfect backdrop for the interesting and unique wares sold in the market. From fresh produce to specialty items, you will definitely find a treasure or two to remember your holiday by.
The market is located at Front Street East. Sections of the market are open as early as 5am.
6. Eaton Center
This huge ultra modern shopping complex occupies several blocks in the downtown area. Although still continually being renovated and expanded, its current structure already has levels that are both above and underground. It features a glass galleria and houses over 250 retailers and restaurants making it the premiere shopping destination in Toronto. With its massive floor area, it’s easy to get lost while exploring. But a quick visit to the visitor area will help you find your way around in no time. You can also rent one of the zip cars available to have a more comfortable and relaxing shopping experience.
